Tension Lock 2 Drawer Removal Instructions

 

  • Removing drawers from Tension Lock 2-equipped products requires temporary disengagement of the interlock system
  • Specific instructions are posted on the back panel of the product
  • Keep children away and do not use the product if interlock is disengaged or damaged
  • Always reengage and test the interlock system after disengaging

Disengaging Tension Lock 2

System-specific instructions are located on the back of the product.  The general procedure for disengaging the system is as follows:

  • Open the drawer requiring removal
  • Reach behind the drawer back panel to locate the gated hook and interlock cord
  • Open the gate and remove the cord from the hook

Reengaging Tension Lock 2

 

System-specific instructions are located on the back of the product.  The general procedure for reengaging the system is as follows:

  • Check that any drawers removed for maintenance are properly reengaged in their slides.
  • Open the drawer requiring re-engagement
  • Reach behind the drawer back panel to locate interlock cord.  If you feel multiple cords, select the one nearest the center of the product
  • Locate the gated hook and open it
  • Move the cord into the hook and release the gate

Testing Tension Lock 2

 

Always test your Tension Lock 2 system after reengaging it:

  • Locate a drawer controlled by the interlock that was temporarily disengaged.
  • Fully open selected drawer and leave it open.
  • Open another drawer in the same column of drawers.
  • If the interlock is properly engaged opening the closed drawer will cause the open drawer to close.

Troubleshooting Tension Lock 2 Interlock Issues

  • Following the instructions above, remove the top drawer and check for snags or obstructions in the interlock cord.
  • Replace the top drawer, reengage the interlock, and remove the next drawer to check for snags or obstructions.
  • Continue until the issue is identified and resolved.
  • If you remove multiple drawers, make sure to number them.  Most drawers are custom-fitted to the slot in which they are installed.
  • Always reengage and test the interlock using the instructions above after disengaging it.
